Draw the classic long-stemmed rose in profile. Build the bloom from a cup sitting in a shallow bowl, then add sepals, a curved stem, hooked thorns and a leaf of five toothed leaflets.
A rosebud is a teardrop on a stem with two overlap lines and narrow sepals. Follow the steps for a tight bud, then widen it into a half-open rose with a spiral at the top.
Draw an open rose from the inside out: a light circle and a small oval heart, a tight spiral, three wrapping petals, a middle ring and wide outer petals with rolled edges.
